Coronavirus disease (COVID19) is an infectious disease caused by a coronavirus that was recently discovered.
Most people infected with the COVID19 virus will have mild to moderate respiratory disease and recover without the need for special treatment. Seniors and those with other health problems, such as cardiovascular disease, diabetes, chronic respiratory disease or cancer, are more likely to have a serious form.
The best way to prevent and slow transmission is to be well informed about the COVID19 virus, how it spreads and the disease it causes. It is possible to protect yourself and others from infection by washing your hands frequently with soap and water or hydroalcoholic solution, and avoiding touching the face.
COVID19 virus spreads primarily through saliva droplets or nasal secretions when an infected person coughs or sneezes. It is therefore important to also apply the rules of respiratory hygiene (for example, covering the mouth and nose with the elbow fold when coughing).
Prevention
To prevent infection and slow transmission of COVID19, you must:
wash your hands regularly with soap and water, or with a hydroalcoholic solution
maintain a distance of at least one meter between you and anyone who coughs or sneezes
avoid touching your face;
cover your mouth and nose when coughing or sneezing
stay at home if you are not feeling well
refrain from smoking and generally give up activities that strain the lungs;
respect the rules of physical distancing by avoiding unnecessary trips and staying away from large gatherings.
symptoms
COVID19 affects people in different ways. Most infected people will develop mild to moderate form of the disease and recover without the need for hospitalization.
Most common symptoms:
fever;
dry cough;
fatigue.
Less common symptoms:
aches and pains;
sore throat;
diarrhea;
conjunctivitis;
headache;
loss of taste or smell;
rash or discoloration of the fingers or toes.
Serious symptoms:
difficulty breathing or shortness of breath;
pain or feeling of tightness in the chest;

You should consult a doctor immediately if you have any serious symptoms. Always call before going to your doctor or a healthcare facility.
People with mild symptoms and are otherwise healthy should be treated while staying at home.
On average, it takes 5-6 days for a person infected with the virus to manifest symptoms. However, this can be up to 14 days.
